Nurturing Seeds of Compassionate Leadership: MPA Students Shine at HOBY
At the Sai Kripalu Foundation, we believe in the inherent goodness and potential within every individual. We are deeply moved to share the story of five exceptional students from Morgan Park Academy – Zoya, Cecelia, Bree, Alana, and Milton – who recently participated in the Hugh O’Brian Youth Leadership (HOBY) Conference, a transformative experience designed to cultivate compassionate leadership.
These bright young minds, chosen for their demonstrated potential, embarked on a journey of self-discovery and collaborative learning at Loyola University Chicago. The HOBY conference, a beacon of hope for future generations, provided a nurturing environment where students from diverse backgrounds could connect, learn, and grow together.
A Tapestry of Transformation
Through facilitated dialogues and abilities-based workshops, Zoya, Cecelia, Bree, Alana, and Milton delved into the depths of their own leadership strengths and values. They discovered the power of empathy, the importance of understanding diverse perspectives, and the profound impact of collaborative action. This experience fostered a newfound sense of awareness, confidence, and purpose, empowering them to become agents of positive change in their communities and beyond.
Empowering Future Leaders
The Sai Kripalu Foundation celebrates the dedication of Morgan Park Academy in nurturing these young leaders. As MPA college counselor Em Joseph stated, “We are tremendously proud of these students for being chosen as HOBY ambassadors. A core part of our school mission is preparing global leaders to make a positive difference in the world."
This story is a testament to the power of compassionate leadership and the transformative impact of investing in the potential of young people. At the Sai Kripalu Foundation, we are committed to supporting initiatives that empower individuals to become beacons of hope and agents of positive change, creating a more just and compassionate world for all.
