Jagadguru Kripalu University has begun its journey with a moment that will remain part of its history for generations. On August 3, 2026, the university was inaugurated in Cuttack, Odisha, by the Hon’ble President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu—a landmark occasion for an institution dedicated to purposeful, value-based higher education.
Founded under the inspiration of Jagadguru Shree Kripalu Ji Maharaj and guided by Swami Mukundananda, JKU is built around a clear belief: education should prepare students not only for careers, but for meaningful lives. Its vision brings together modern academics, research, innovation, entrepreneurship, leadership, and India’s spiritual wisdom.
A historic beginning
The inauguration ceremony brought together national and state leadership, university leaders, and the wider community. The occasion included the ceremonial ribbon cutting, unveiling of the inaugural plaque, lamp lighting, cultural celebrations, and the planting of a sacred Peepal sapling—a fitting symbol for a university rooted in wisdom and growing toward the future.
President Murmu highlighted the role of universities in helping young people develop their talents and fulfill their aspirations. Her message aligns closely with JKU’s mission: to create an environment where students grow in knowledge, confidence, compassion, and purpose.

Education beyond scholarships
Sai Kripalu Foundation is an investment in education itself. An institution where students can learn, build practical skills, pursue research, develop character, and prepare to contribute to their communities.
At the heart of JKU’s work is the belief that education should shape the whole person. The university aims to nurture students who are intellectually strong, emotionally grounded, ethically responsible, and inspired to serve society. That combination gives the institution a distinctive place in higher education, especially at a time when students need both practical skills and a steady inner compass.
A campus for learning, discovery, and leadership
JKU’s campus in Banara, Cuttack, represents more than new buildings. It is designed as an educational ecosystem where students can explore ideas, gain skills, engage in research, develop entrepreneurial thinking, and grow as leaders.
The university has also announced an academic collaboration initiative with the University of Texas at Dallas, focused on education, research, innovation, entrepreneurship, leadership development, and global student engagement. These efforts point toward a future in which students benefit from both strong local roots and wider academic connections.
A shared commitment to education
By supporting Jagadguru Kripalu University, Sai Kripalu Foundation helps expand access to an education that connects learning with character, opportunity with responsibility, and ambition with service. Scholarships can open an important door for individual students; supporting a university helps strengthen the educational environment in which many students can learn and thrive.
As JKU begins its first academic chapter, it stands as a promising center for knowledge, service, and leadership is one that carries forward a vision where education becomes a path to both personal growth and collective good.
