Supporting Cara Collective
Sai Kripalu Foundation is proud to support Cara Collective, a transformative Chicago-based organization that has dedicated nearly 35 years to breaking the cycle of poverty through the power and purpose of employment. With a deep commitment to building inclusive economies, Cara Collective creates meaningful pathways to employment that uplift individuals and strengthen communities.
What's Cara Collective?
Since its inception, Cara Collective has helped create over 16,000 jobs, employing more than 9,400 individuals and generating $10.8 million in annual earnings for its participants. Their approach not only focuses on job placement but also emphasizes long-term success, demonstrated by an impressive 62% one-year, same-firm retention rate and 98% participant satisfaction with program outcomes.
Cara Collective's Cause
Through its three impactful entities—Cara, Cleanslate, and Cara Plus—the organization creates over 1,000 jobs each year, leveraging a powerful network of motivated job seekers, passionate donors, dedicated volunteers, and mission-aligned employers and partners. Together, they are fueling a courageous national movement to eradicate both relational and financial poverty.
Sai Kripalu Foundation’s funding supports Cara Collective’s holistic employment programs, helping individuals not just find jobs, but build sustainable futures filled with dignity, purpose, and possibility. This collaboration embodies our shared mission to transform lives by addressing critical issues like poverty, unemployment, and social exclusion.
We are honored to be part of Cara Collective’s journey and are inspired by the success stories of individuals like Izell T., a Cara graduate who shared, “Cara invested in me and my future!”
Together, we are building a world where every individual has the opportunity to thrive.
