Throughout his distinguished career, including his roles as Assistant Attorney General for the State of Illinois, Special Counsel for the Illinois Department of Revenue, and a tax executive for Sara Lee Corporation, Fred has consistently embodied the spirit of giving back. His leadership in organizations like the Civic Federation, Illinois Chamber of Commerce, and the Tax Executives Institute reflects a deep commitment to the well-being of the community.
Even in retirement, Fred's dedication to uplifting others shines brightly. He channels his wisdom and experience into empowering small businesses in Chicago through the Neighborhood Entrepreneurship Lab (NEL) and its successor, NEL 2.0. This compassionate mentorship provides invaluable support to aspiring entrepreneurs, fostering economic opportunity and strengthening the fabric of the community.
Beyond his professional achievements, Fred's induction into Morgan Park Academy’s Athletic Walk of Fame in September 2024 speaks to his well-rounded character and commitment to excellence. His academic pursuits, culminating in a J.D. from DePaul University College of Law, a Master’s in education from Stanford University, and an economics degree from Swarthmore College, further demonstrate his unwavering pursuit of knowledge and his desire to make a meaningful difference in the world.
